Thanksgiving Agenda - Things to Do in OKC!!!



Wondering what fun things are taking place Thanksgiving weekend??? Well fret not, there are plenty of activities!!!

Wednesday, November 21st -

Can't make it to the game. Want to have a watch party? Let's THUNDER-UP at Brix Sports Lounge (http://www.brixokc.com/) - For anyone that wants to watch the game there, meet there at 5pm. Wear the Thunder blue!


Thursday, November 22nd -

Family, Fellowship, Give Thanks! Thanksgiving is a time to spend with friends, family and loved one's and to give thanks. Join us for a family potluck dinner. Reconnect with older family members, and meet the newest generations. Be merry and sample all of the Thanksgiving traditional fair, as well as some family favorites!!!

The dinner will take place at: Prospect Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Oklahoma City at 2809 North Missouri Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73111-3357
Time: 2pm - until

Later, take in a blockbuster at Harkins Bricktown Cinema. (Movie & Showtimes to be determined)


Friday, November 23rd -

Early Bird Black Friday Shopping Excursion. Only for the brave! Wake up early & catch the worm or a good deal. Meeting time is at 5:00am (*location to be announced)


More of a late riser, fierce competitor and have a great arm. Test your skills on the bowling lanes! Form a team with family members and go head to head knocking down pins and getting strikes! Bowling party to take place from 7pm - 10pm at AMF Windsor Lanes.

The bowling party includes 3 hours of bowling, shoes, unlimited soda, fresh popped popcorn, and jumbo pretzels with sauces!!! The price of attending the bowling party is $21.00 per adult.  

For children 12 and under, they will get 2 hours of bowling time, shoe rental, 2-3 slices of pizza & unlimited soda for $16.00 per child.

The party's not over. For those that are 21 & up, partake in a late excursion to a local Casino or Jazz/Blues Music Lounge. (more details to follow)


Saturday – November 24th

Saturday is a leisurely day for you to explore the sights and sounds of Oklahoma City! Try one of the following or all of them weather and time permitting!!!


  • Bricktown - This location makes for an excellent day or night activity with many great places to eat, listen to music, shop, or see the river-walk, among many other enjoyable things to do. You  will find many things to do in this lively and vibrant neighborhood that is well worth a visit for an evening of fun.
  •  Black Liberated Arts Center This arts center was created with a mission of providing the community with a place to take in shows promoting the African and African-American culture. There are many theaters in Oklahoma City, but only one like this. The theatre is known for providing a relaxed atmosphere full of soul music. The dinner theatres that are offered occasionally make wonderful date-night ideas for younger couples.

  • Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum This is a unique and somber experience where you can spend a couple of hours looking over pieces of damage from the Oklahoma City bombing while paying tribute to those who lost their lives. Here you will learn important information pertaining to one of the largest terrorist attacks on American soil.

  •  National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum  this museum  will take you through an entire world of all things cowboy related. You will see one of the world’s largest collections of western art and many other exhibits. At $12.50 an adult, you can’t beat spending a day looking around.

  • Science Museum Oklahoma Any science lovers looking for hands-on fun should check out Oklahoma City’s premier spot for family fun. At this location you will find over eight acres of science exhibits that cover many topics such as: aviation, cultural artifacts, science experiments, and they even have an IMAX theatre. To make the Museum even better, it is a member of the Smithsonian family of museums. They have three ticket packages depending which attractions you want to see out of the Dome theatre ($8.95 per adult), museum only ($11.95 per adult), or the dome and museum ($15.95).

  • Riverwind Casino Located just south of Oklahoma City the Riverwind Casino is the state’s largest and newest casino. A casino always makes a wonderful place for a date because they offer much fun with an opportunity to take home a jackpot of money if you get lucky. This casino offers nearly 3,000 games ranging from electronic slot machines to off-track horse betting and poker tables.

  • Myriad Botanical Gardens In the heart of downtown Oklahoma City you will find the Myriad Botanical Gardens nestled away. The gardens are home to 17 acres that are beautifully landscaped grounds that surround the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. The venue is home to over 1,000 plant species, skywalks, and waterfalls. Admission is only $6 per adult which makes it an affordable place for a day outing.
